Thelma B. Ferguson
Ms. Ferguson is a distinguished executive leader, celebrated for her strategic vision, trusted counsel, and steadfast commitment to fostering high-performing teams. With nearly 30 years of experience in commercial banking, Ms. Ferguson retired from JPMorgan Chase at the beginning of 2026, where she most recently served as Vice Chair of Commercial Banking, alongside an expanded role in which her influence was pivotal in driving transformation and a global culture of inclusion within the organization. Ms. Ferguson also held Operating Committee memberships across Consumer & Community Banking, Commercial & Investment Bank, Corporate Sector, and Human Resources, placing her among the most senior executives at JPMorgan Chase.
Prior to joining JPMorgan Chase, Ms. Ferguson held vital senior positions at other financial institutions. As President at Bank One, she spearheaded market development in Kentucky and Tennessee, including launching a de novo market. At First Union National Bank, she served as Senior Vice President, focusing on large corporate banking in Tennessee. Ms. Ferguson began her banking career at SunTrust Banks, N.A., with a focus on middle market and large corporate banking.
Beyond her corporate achievements, Ms. Ferguson is deeply engaged in civic and board service. She currently serves on The Women’s Leadership Board at the Harvard Kennedy School. Her previous board roles include the New York City Ballet, where she was active on the Finance and Risk Committee and Audit Committee, Chair of Metro United Way of Louisville, Chair of the New York Bankers Association, and Chair of the Audit Committee for 7 Acquisition Corp.
Ms. Ferguson holds both an M.S. and B.A. from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Her accolades include Top 10 Women of Influence (New York Business Journal, 2022).
